In the spirit of Sun’s previous release of the x86 Solaris 9 version for $20 to people for personal/learning use, Sun just recently put it’s new Solaris 10 up for download! However, this time, it’s completly free, and the license allows unlimited install!
Included in the great new Solaris 10 is the concept of Zones, in which, on one physical computer, you can have many “slaves”. Each slave, or Zone, has its own MAC and IP. Thus, rather than running Bind and Apache on the same box, you put them in different zones, so that if one gets rooted, the other still stays live.
